4/6 – Worker Speak Out! Sodexo Truth Tour (Emory)

Posted: 3rd April 2011 by USAS National in Georgia, Uncategorized

Wednesday, April 6 · 6:30pm – 8:00pm

White Hall 206

Sodexo, a transnational corporation based in France which is contracted at Emory University and hundreds of other universities across the country, has not only been sustaining the cycle of poverty on our campus but also violating human rights around the world. Sodexo has taken their malpractices from France to the Dominican Republic to the U.S., among many other countries. Former Sodexo worker Carina Mieses will be coming all the way from the Dominican Republic to Emory to speak out about her experiences with Sodexo and its human rights abuses.

Co-Sponsoring organizations for this event include: Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights, Students and Workers in Solidarity, NAACP, Health Organization for Latin America, Amnesty International, GSU Progressive Student Alliance, Atlanta Jobs With Justice, United Students Against Sweatshops, Feminists in Action, Sexual Health Awareness Group

This event will take place:
Wednesday, April 6th at 6:30
